Hi, I’m Jof! I have the honor of capturing life’s most beautiful milestones for special couples in Virginia and beyond. I live in Leesburg with my lovely wife, Riza, and our two energetic boys, Alex and Theo. My family means everything to me—they motivate me and they inspire my photography, which is rooted in love and joy.
I think of myself as more than a photographer, because my work is so much more than snapping pictures. I take a hands-on approach to every shoot, making sure every detail is just right, and striving to highlight my subjects’ true selves. I make the time to get to know every client and build a relationship with them so I understand exactly what they’re looking for. I work closely with my clients to plan for perfection, from fairytale weddings to barefoot beach ceremonies.
A few fun facts about me: I love taking magical portraits using natural light, whether it’s sunrise on the National Mall or sunset on a sandy beach. I never start my day without coffee—usually an extra hot caramel macchiato. I live for the details, like intricate floral arrangements, precious heirlooms, or handwritten calligraphy. I’ll do just about anything to get the perfect shot in front of a stunning view.

My work is driven by natural light. I love to photograph outdoors and I make the most out of the so-called golden hour, when everyone looks their best in the glow of sunlight. Sunset is my favorite part of any wedding. It’s the perfect time to reflect on your beautiful day and soak in the last glimpse of light with your partner, just the two of you.

I’m always up for adventure. I jump at the chance to do something that’s never been done before and I love when my couples have unique ideas for a shot. I’ll even go off-road if it means getting a better angle or backdrop. I once hiked to a remote waterfall in Costa Rica to photograph a couple in front of the gorgeous cascade!

Growing up, my family never had professional portraits taken. I don’t have timeless photo albums to look back on. When Riza and I planned our wedding, we didn’t give much thought to the importance of quality wedding photography. We regret not having images that truly capture the raw emotions shared between us and with our family on our big day. That’s why photography is so important to me today.
Why I Love Photography
When I eventually picked up my own camera, I knew I wanted to capture those emotions and memories so others could have what I missed out on. I want my clients to re-live their happiest days when they look back on these photos. Every shot freezes moments in time so children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren can see the joy when they flip through family albums.
